Guillermo Santana, 26, of Harral Avenue, Bridgeport, was charged on a warrant Monday in connection with a theft from an off-duty Bridgeport police officer's car in December.

The car was parked in the lot at Planet Fitness on Black Rock Turnpike on Dec. 17. A rear window was smashed and $1,000 in cash, as well as clothing items, were taken, police were told.

During the investigation, Bridgeport police learned that someone was attempting to sell the stolen items, and Santana was with the other suspect.

He was charged with conspiracy to commit fifth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary. Santana was held in lieu of a $15,000 bond and is scheduled to appear March 12 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
