Man charged in domestic dispute

A 48-year-old Fairfield man was charged with disorderly conduct Saturday afternoon after a dispute with his wife, police said.

Police said the woman reported that Dennis O'Neill, of Eastlawn Street, pulled her out of a car by her hair and twisted her arm. O'Neill denied pulling his wife by her hair, police said. The woman told officers she was not injured and was not in any pain, police said.

The dispute stemmed from a disagreement over the care of the couple's 8-year-old daughter, police said. A neighbor called police about the incident, police said.

O'Neill was released on a promise to have appeared Monday in Bridgeport Superior Court.
