A 21-year-old Brockton, Mass., man was charged on a warrant Tuesday in connection with an incident last October at Fairfield University.

Deandre Lawton was charged with second-degree criminal mischief and second-degree criminal trespass and released after posting bond. He is scheduled to appear Jan. 30 in Bridgeport Superior Court.

According to the report, a Fairfield University student complained to campus security Oct. 6 that another student entered her townhouse without permission and damaged a 47-inch television. Earlier that evening, Lawton had argued with the complainant's roommates and began sending text messages to her, she told police.

Later, she and her roommates were awakened around 1:20 a.m. by the sound of a loud crash coming from the living room area. Lawton was located by campus police a short distance away and questioned, but not charged at the time.
