A Grasmere Avenue man was arrested Sunday after a fight with his live-in girlfriend allegedly turned physical.

Michael Flynn, 45, was charged with third-degree assault, second-degree threatening and disorderly conduct.

According to the report, when police arrived at the home, all was quiet and Flynn was standing at the door. He said his girlfriend was fine, but when officers asked him to step outside, he refused, police said. Police put him in handcuffs and continued their investigation.

His girlfriend was upset and said Flynn had come home intoxicated and pushed her into a table saw that was in the kitchen, causing her to hit her head and arm. He then took all the water pitchers that were on a kitchen counter and knocked them to the floor and stomped on them. She went to the basement to get away from Flynn, she said, who threatened to knock her head off, as well as to kill her and himself.

While waiting in the patrol car, Flynn complained of chest pains, but after being checked by a crew from AMR, declined to go the hospital.

He was released on a promise to appear the next day at state Superior Court in Bridgeport.
