A Beaconview Drive man faces several charges after police said he beat his girlfriend Thursday night.
Thomas J. Rattigan, 50, was charged with first-degree unlawful restraint, second-degree breach of peace and third-degree assault following the incident.
Ratigan and the woman began arguing over a phone at her house, police said. He grabbed her by the hair, forcing her to the ground and kicked and punched her, according to the report. She was finally able to break free, police said, and ran from the apartment. A housemate called to report the incident.
Rattigan was taken into custody as he was returning to his own apartment. He was held on a $100,000 bond and was scheduled to have been arraigned Friday in Bridgeport Superior Court.
