A Weston man was charged on a warrant Monday with trying to fill a forged prescription last month at a Southport pharmacy.
Simon D. Billig, 46, of Steep Hill Road, Weston faces two counts each of misuse of a prescription and second-degree forgery. He was released on a $2,000 bond after turning himself in at police headquarters and is scheduled to appear Feb. 14 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
Police said Billig went to Switzer's Pharmacy on Pequot Avenue in January and dropped off prescriptions that the pharmacist believed had been altered. The date on the prescriptions appeared altered, but the alteration had not been initialed by the doctor, according to the report.
After checking with the medical group whose name was on the prescription, police said, it was determined the prescriptions were forged.
