A 40-year-old man who allegedly groped a woman at a local bowling alley earlier this summer was charged Tuesday with fourth-degree sexual assault.
Jose Chavarria, 40, of Linen Avenue in Bridgeport, turned himself in at police headquarters.
According to police, Chavarria groped a woman at Nutmeg Bowl on July 25, and the incident was reported to police two days later. Chavarria was an employee of the bowling alley at the time, police said.
He was released after posting a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear Sept. 22 at state Superior Court in Bridgeport.
