A Bridgeport man was charged on a warrant Thursday with harassing his ex-girlfriend from Fairfield.
Arash Nadim, 34, who was charged with second-degree harassment, was warned by police April 5 after the local woman reported he sent her threatening voicemails and text messages. Two weeks later, she reported that he tried to contact her through several different phone numbers and sent her four emails with derogatory comments about her mother, police said.
An officer asked the woman on May 11 to give a written statement, but she refused to do so, fearing that it would upset Nadim, police said. She said he had no contact with him for two weeks at that point.
Nadim, who police said has been arrested previously for burglary, assault, criminal trespassing and unlawful restraint, turned himself in at Police Department headquarters after being advised of a warrant for his arrest. He was released on a $5,000 bond and was scheduled to have appeared Friday in Bridgeport Superior Court.
