A 62-year-old resident of the Operation Hope homeless shelter was arrested Thursday afternoon after he was accused of exposing himself in the parking lot of the Fairfield Public Library, 1080 Old Post Road.

Stephen F. Besket was charged with public indecency, creating a public disturbance and risk of injury to a minor.

A woman reported that she was getting into her car, which was parked next to Besket's Lexus, in the library lot. The woman, who was accompanied by a child, told police Besket was looking at a pornographic magazine and exposing himself in the car.

Besket admitted that the incident had occurred, according to the police report.

He was released on a promise to appear March 24 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
