A 31-year-old Bridgeport was charged with sexually assaulting a 15-year-old Fairfield girl, who had been reported missing by her family Thursday night.

Hilario Perez-Canalizo, of Atwater Street in Bridgeport, was charged with second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor after police said they determined he had oral sex and sexual intercourse with the teen.

The girl apparently met victim reportedly met Perez-Canalizo about a week at a Trumbull gym, police said.

She was reported missing Thursday night by a relative, according to the report, but was later found with Perez-Canalizo at Owen Fish Park on Stratfield Road. After interviewing the teen and Perez-Canalizo, police said they learned that a sexual assault had taken place at the man's Bridgeport residence two days earlier.

Perez was taken into custody, and held on $100,000 bond, police said. He was scheduled to have appeared Friday at Bridgeport Superior Court.

Police were contacted early Friday by a federal Homeland Security Department agent, who issued an immigration detainer for Perez-Canalizo.
