Man charged with stealing 23 cans of Red Bull

A Bridgeport man was charged Thursday afternoon with stealing 23 cans of Red Bull energy drink from Super Stop & Shop, 1160 Kings Highway Cutoff.

Mark L. Concalves, 35, placed the cans under a large brown jacket and then ran out of the store without paying for them, police said. Store personnel told him to stop as the cans fell from under his jacket and into the parking lot. He was brought back into the store as police were called.

Concalves, who was told in July not to return to the store, was charged with sixth-degree larceny and first-degree criminal trespass.

He was being held at police headquarters in lieu of posting a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear Dec. 17 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
