Man charged with stealing golf clubs, leaf blower

Brian Brainard, 37, of Clinton Avenue, Bridgeport, faces larceny charges after his arrest Wednesday on a warrant issued in connection with the theft of a $1,000 set of golf clubs from a Stoneleigh Road garage and a backpack leaf blower from a truck on Marlborough Terrace, valued at $300.

Both incidents took place in June, and police said they later located the stolen items at a Bridgeport pawn shop.

Brainard was charged with third-degree burglary, fifth-degree larceny and sixth-degree larceny. He was held on bonds totaling $6,000 and was arraigned last Wednesday at Bridgeport Superior Court.
