After an investigation into the August theft of two backpack leaf blowers, police have charged Leonardo Cirino, 37, of Old Town Road, Seymour.
The theft took place on Skytop Terrace after witnesses reported seeing a man walking a dog take the leaf blowers, valued at $900, from a landscaping trailer. The suspect drove off in a car that did not have a rear window, but witnesses were able to get the registration plate number.
The car was traced to Cirino's Seymour address, and according to police, Cirino's father said he son arrived home and shortly afterward put the leaf blowers into a blue van driven by another man. The report states Cirino was on probation for a prior felony conviction.
The leaf blowers were found at a local pawn shop.
Cirino was charged with fifth-degree larceny and released on a promise to appear Dec. 10 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
