A 25-year-old Bridgeport man who allegedly stole a backpack-style leaf blower last October was arrested Monday morning on a warrant charging him with sixth-degree larceny.
Larenzo Jamis Rippie, of Sylvan Avenue, Bridgeport, stole the leaf blower, valued at $500, from the front yard of a home on Lounsbury Road on Oct. 26 and then brought it to a pawn shop to get cash within 20 minutes of the theft, according to police. Officers obtained Rippie's name from the pawn shop records, police said.
Rippie turned himself in at police headquarters about 5:30 a.m. Monday, and was released on a promise to appear March 15 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
