Emir Arslanagic, 39, of Moritz Place, was charged Sunday morning after police said he pushed his wife out of a chair and threatened her.
Police had been called to the house the night before by Arslanagic’s wife because, according to the report, he was intoxicated and screaming. He calmed down, police said, but the next morning he began to argue again with his wife again.
She told police she was sitting in a chair and he pushed her out of it and onto the floor. He then allegedly began waving a sheathed, 5-inch hunting knife and threatened to burn down the house.
She locked herself and the couple’s 11- and 9-year-old children in another room and called her sister in New York, police said. The sister called police, and when officers arrived, the found the victim outside the house and the children in the car. Arslanagic had left, but was taken into custody when he returned.
He was charged with disorderly conduct and threatening, and held on a $25,000 bond. He was scheduled to have appeared Monday at state Superior Court in Bridgeport.
