Tremaine Wilson, 41, of Bridgeport, was charged with sixth-degree larceny around 4 p.m. Saturday after trying to steal four 12-packs of Heineken beer from Super Stop & Shop, 1160 Kings Highway Cutoff, police said.
He made it outside the store with the product but ditched the beer in the lot when a store manager chased after him. Seen getting into a white Toyota Camry, he was pulled over on Kings Highway Cutoff about a half-mile from the store, police said. Wilson initially claimed he hadn't been at the supermarket but then allegedly said, "You got me."
Released on $500 bond, Wilson is scheduled to appear Dec. 12 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
