Matthew Makar, 26, was arrested Monday night after police said he went to his girlfriend's home, despite a court order to stay away.
Makar, of 143 Kings Highway East, was charged with violation of a protective order and held on a $20,000 bond.
According to the report, Makar's girlfriend heard a noise outside her window, and then heard the home's back door open. When she went to check on the noise, she told police that she saw Makar walk into the house, and then into the living room, where he threw mail all over the room. He left, but police at first could not get in contact with him.
However, a short time later police received a call from Makar's mother reporting that he was outside of her home and appeared to be intoxicated. He was then taken into custody.
Makar was scheduled to have appeared Tuesday in Bridgeport Superior Court.
