Man faces DUI charge for October accident

Peter Delfranco, 55, of Park Avenue, Bridgeport, turned himself in at police headquarters Dec.18 to face charges in connection with an Oct. 13 car accident.
Delfranco was charged with driving under the influence and failure to drive in the proper lane.
According to police, he was driving east on Marne Avenue when he veered off the road and struck a parked car.
He was confused and slurring his words, according to the report, and admitted to drinking two pint glasses of vodka earlier. A diabetic, Delfranco’s blood sugar level was low and, after the accident, he was taken to St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport.
According to police, Delfranco was arrested in 2008 for DUI.
He was released on a $100 bond and is scheduled to appear Dec. 29 at state Superior Court in Bridgeport.
