Brian Dolyak, 19, of Oak Bluff Avenue, Stratford, was charged this week with drunken driving in connection with a May 28 car accident.

Dolyak was driving east on the Post Road around 3:15 a.m. May 28 when he went off the road, struck a utility pole, a parked car and the building at 2537 Post Road, before his car came to rest on its side, according to the police report. When officers arrived at the scene, Dolyak was not in the car. He was found walking about two-tenths of a mile away, bleeding from several cuts, police said.

He told police he fell asleep while driving, according to the report.

Dolyak was taken to Bridgeport Hospital, but police received a warrant for his medical records and determined that he was intoxicated.

He was charged with driving under the influence by someone under 21 and failure to drive right. Dolyak was released on a promise to appear July 9 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
