Robert J. Pekar, 25, of Forest Avenue, ripped a television set off the wall and pointed a gun at his ex-girlfriend during an argument Sunday night, police said.

Pekar drove to Westport after the incident and dropped off a .45 caliber handgun at his mother's home there, police said.

After talking to officers by phone, police said, Pekar then drove to a predetermined location in Westport where he was taken into custody by Westport and Fairfield police.

He was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree threatening and disorderly conduct. Pekar was released around 1 a.m. Monday on a $25,000 bond and scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court later that day.
