Suburban Avenue resident Richard Turner, 32, faces charges after police said he began throwing furniture out of the house and into the street Tuesday night.

Turner's wife called to report that he was intoxicated and throwing things around the house, as well as out of the house, police said. The couple's 2-year-old son was asleep upstairs at the time, according to the report. When officers arrived, they said they found broken dishes and furniture in the street, and bruises on his wife's arms and legs.

Turner was taken into custody and the state Department of Children and Family notified. He was charged with disorderly conduct and second-degree breach of peace, and held on a $15,000 bond. He was scheduled to have appeared Wednesday in Bridgeport Superior Court.
