A Shelton man suffered pelvic injuries after the SUV driven by his father pinned him between the vehicle and a restaurant's steel storage container Friday afternoon.
The incident took place as Domenico Manchisi, 66, of Tunxis Hill Road, was parking his Jeep Grand Cherokee at 116 Post Road.
As his son, Leonardo Manchisi, 37, of Shelton walked around the front of the vehicle, he noticed the engine was still running. His father got back into the vehicle and told police when he pushed the ignition button to turn off the engine, the SUV jumped forward, pinning his son against the container. Domenico Manchisi immediately backed up and called 911.
Leonardo Manchisi was taken to the Bridgeport Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. No charges were filed in connection with the accident, but police did impound the car to check for any mechanical issues. According to the report, none were found.
