Girls gymnastics

Ludlowe finished third in the Class L championships that took place on February 25 at Pomperaug High School. The Falcons scored 132.000 points to finish behind first place Greenwich (142.575) and second place Trumbull (140.700). Seven gymnasts competed in the individual events competition.

On the vault, Georgia Sharpe and Emerson Raymond both scored an 8.500, Claire DeMaso scored an 8.475 and Madison Cerny scored an 8.450. On the uneven bars, Hogarth scored an 8.150, Raymond scored a 7.700, Olivia Hurst also scored a 7.700 and Sarah McKinnis scored a 7.350. On the balance beam, Hogarth scored an 8.550, Hurst scored an 8.400, DeMaso scored an 8.150 and Cerny scored a 7.700. On the floor exercise, Hurst scored an 8.850, DeMaso scored an 8.625, Raymond scored an 8.600 and Hogarth scored an 8.500.

Boys hockey

Fairfield Prep used two goals from Chris Brown to defeat Hamden 6-3 on February 25. The Jesuits (10-9) also received goals from Matt Kernaghan, Jack Cavanaugh, Ryan Eckert and Skyler Celotto. Assists went to Cole Casl (2), Eckert (2), Brennan Henry (2), Joe Mancini (2) Carter Kral, Kevin Oricoli, Cavanaugh and Devin Blanchette. Chris Ligas made 20 saves in goal for Prep. On February 27, the Jesuits defeated Xavier 5-2 to improve to 11-9 on the season. Joe Mancini, Kevin Oricoli, Calyb Reeves, Ryan Eckert and Brennan Henry scored for Prep with assists going to Carter Kral (2), Reeves, Oricoli, Mancini, Marc Orlin, Devin Blanchette and Skyler Celotto. Jack McGee made 28 saves in goal.

Notre Dame-Fairfield lost to ND-West Haven 4-2 on February 27. Brian Gallagher scored both goals for the Lancers with assists going to Jason Ziegler (2), AJ Bouvier and Spencer Ryall. Bill Scovil made 42 saves in goal for ND-Fairfield.
