The author of the children's books featuring the characters Max and Ruby will visit the Fairfield Public Library on Sept. 2 to read from her latest book.

Rosemary Wells will read from "Max & Ruby at the Warthog's Wedding" when she appears the library at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 2 in the library's Rotary Room, corner of Old Post and Post roads.

Max and Ruby are bunny siblings -- Ruby is the responsible older sister, Max is the mischievous younger brother -- featured in Wells' books, which she also illustrates.

The library is sponsoring Wells' visit with the Fairfield University Bookstore, which will have books available for purchase at the event. Registration is required.

Wells has been writing and illustrating books for children for more than 40 years, a total of more than 120 books for newborns to pre-teens.
