Senior citizens who would like help weighing their options for Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage can get free, individual consultations with an expert in a program sponsored by the Fairfield Senior Center and Fairfield Public Library.
Appointments are available on Wednesday, Nov. 28, and Wednesday Dec. 5, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the library's main branch, 1080 Old Post Road.
A social worker trained in Medicare's drug plans will meet with seniors on the second floor of the library, the senior center said in a news release. Each appointment will be for 30 minutes and will focus on which insurance-company options best fit each senior's needs, the senior center said.
Medicare's deadline for open enrollment in a Part D plan is Dec. 7, so time is critical for anyone not yet enrolled, the senior center said.
Appointments are available by calling Anne Farkas at the library at 203-256- 3155.
Seniors should bring lists of their medications to their appointments so plans that fit their needs can be suggested, the senior center said.
The sessions are informational, and insurance will not be sold.
