Police charged two men with stealing video games from BJ's Wholesale Club, 40 Black Rock Turnpike, Wednesday afternoon, after they led cops on a foot chase.

Vincent Colavito, 23, of Brewster Street, Bridgeport, and Leon Pasternak, 28, of Rodgers Road, were both charged with sixth-degree larceny and interfering with an officer. Pasternak was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia when police said they found a syringe in his pocket that he said was used for heroin, according to the report.

Security personnel at the store spotted the two -- who they suspected may have been connected with a shoplifting incident two days prior -- acting suspiciously and called police. Officers stationed themselves outside the store's entrance and waited for Colavito and Pasternak to walk out. When the pair spotted the officers, they fled on foot through the parking lot in two different directions, but were caught after a short chase.

They had each taken video games from the store, police said.

Both were released on a promise to appear March 5 in Bridgeport Superior Court, and turned over to the detective division for questioning about the earlier shoplifting.
