Men charged with trying to beat taxi fare from NYC to Fairfield

Two Waterbury men were issued infractions for creating a public disturbance early Wednesday after they refused to pay a New York City cab driver the full $250 fare for a trip from New York to the Fairfield Railroad Station.
According to the report, the driver and Mark Guastaferri, 25, and Martin A. Stanulli, III, 24, had agreed to the $250 fare before leaving the city. The driver said when they arrived at the train station around 4 a.m. Wednesday, however, the pair refused to pay the full fare and left the scene in their car.
The car was stopped stopped by police on Interstate 95 and the men made full restitution, according to the report.
