Menorah lighting set Saturday in downtown Fairfield

Chabad of Fairfield will light a 9-foot-tall menorah at the Sherman Green gazebo at 6:15 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8.

Community officials will join the ceremony, which will include holiday music, dancing, hot latkes, doughnuts and a raffle.

Chabad of Fairfield will joins thousands of Chabad centers worldwide in staging public Hanukkah celebrations as part of a global effort to bring the observance of Jewish life and traditions into public places, the release states.
