A traffic stop about 11 p.m. Friday led to charges for Michael Decampos, 31, of Hanover Street, Bridgeport.
Decampos was stopped on Kings Highway because his motorcycle had illegal blue underlights. During the stop, police said Decampos acted nervous and kept fumbling with his jacket and the paperwork for the motorcycle. Asked if he had any weapons, he said he didn't, but during a pat-down police found a pair of brass knuckles in his jacket pocket.
He also could not produce an insurance card for the motorcycle, nor a motorcyle license. When Decampos' cousin Jason Scott, 32, of Oakview Circle, Bridgeport, arrived at the scene with the insurance card, police discovered the State Police had a warrant for Scott's arrest for evading responsibility. Scott was turned over to State Police.
Decampos was charged with carrying a dangerous weapon and issued an infraction for unauthorized colored lights. His motorcycle was towed and he was released on a promise to appear Sept. 5 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
