The Fairfield Museum and History Center is again offering its monthly history book club on the last Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. beginning Feb. 23.

The series begins by with "Slave No More: Two Men Who Escaped to Freedom, Including Their Own Narratives of Emancipation" by David W. Blight, a Yale University history professor.

While reading the book is encouraged, it isn't required, the museum said. The first session will be moderated by Samuel L. Schaffer, a Yale post-doctoral teaching fellow who twice has been chief teaching fellow for Blight's Civil War lecture course.

The Fairfield Public Library has set aside a limited number of copies of "A Slave No More" for the book club. They are available to pick up at the circulation desk of the main library under the name of Fairfield Museum History Book Club.

The museum is at 370 Beach Road.
