New Orleans jazz band to play StageOne

Fairfield Theatre Co. will hold a performance by Soul Rebels, a New Orleans jazz band, at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, at StageOne, 70 Sanford St. Doors open at 7 p.m.

The seven-member group began its professional debut with the Neville Brothers in New Orleans at Tipitina's! after playing the streets of New Orleans, according to a release. The band has also opened for bands such as Bootsy Collins, A Tribe Called Quest, Green Day, James Brown, Allen Toussaint, The Roots and Robert Plant & Jimmy Page.

The band's music has been featured on the HBO show, "Treme.
