For many, Monday made for an excellent combination -- summer-like temperatures for a third consecutive day and clear blue skies capping what, for many, was a long Columbus Day weekend.

Rather than sitting in class or working behind a desk, Fairfielders flocked to the beaches and parks, while others took a nautical respite on boats that criss-crossed waters along the shoreline.

Sadly, all good things must come to an end and, by mid-week, most will be back at work or school, temperatures will cool to more seasonal levels and rain is expected to fall by Wednesday.
