A stretch of North Benson and Stillson roads, otherwise known as state Route 135, will be resurfaced over a two-week period beginning next week.

The 2.58 miles of road will first be milled and then resurfaced from Thursday, July 11, to Friday, July 26, according to First Selectman Michael Tetreau. That schedule, however, could be affected by inclement weather.

The weekday work schedule is set from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The work is being done by the state Department of Transportation.

The curb-to-curb project will neither widen nor narrow the road, Tetreau said.

Drivers can expect lane closures on Route 135 between the Post Road (Route 1) and Black Rock Turnpike (Route 58). Traffic control personnel and signs will help guide motorists through the work zone.
