Oct. 6 is 'Star Wars' day at library

A day-long celebration of "Star Wars" is planned at the Fairfield Public Library on Saturday, Oct. 6, with a variety of activities for children and teenagers.

"Star Wars Reads Day" includes activities from 1 to 5 p.m. during regular hours at the main library, 1080 Old Post Road, plus an after-hours program for teenagers until 8:30 p.m.

From 1 to 5 p.m., activities include crafts, film screenings, a trivia contest, Bingo, a Star Wars-themed pinata, raffles and prizes.

An after- hours Star Wars Teen Mystery Night is planned from 6 to 8:30 p.m. for students in grades six through 12.

Registration is required for the teen after-hours event but not for activities between 1 and 5 p.m.
