Olive May Mulligan, 94, a former Fairfield resident, the wife of the late George F. Mulligan Jr., died Oct. 21, 2010, at Spring Meadows in Trumbull.

Born in Bridgeport, she was the daughter of the late Horace and Lucy Orton. She had been a Fairfield resident most of her life, and retired at the age of 80 as an officer for a family business, the Right Handling Equipment Co. in Bridgeport. Her interests included reading, knitting and crocheting for charity and British comedies on TV.

Survivors include two sons, Gerald G. Mulligan and his wife, Carol, of Easton and Brian D. Mulligan and his wife, Laura, of Newtown; two daughters, Ann Hallett and her husband, Ron, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Kathleen S. Mulligan and her husband, Hugo Johner. of Southampton, N.Y.; grandchildren, Kyle Hallett and his wife Marisa, Kelly Hallett, Erin Cummings and her husband Jim, Tracy Mulligan, Daniel Johner, Sarah Johner and Christopher Lee Mulligan, and a nephew, George Mulligan of Stratford. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a cousin, Frances Louise Kalkert.

A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 661 Old Post Road. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery. The family will greet friends prior to the service Wednesday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road.
