A 3-K Winter Walk held by Operation Hope of Fairfield Inc. at Milford's Great River Golf Club raised $4,000 for the nonprofit organization.

More than 160 people walked the club's golf cart path during the event to benefit the agency's homeless shelter in downtown Fairfield. Walkers included individuals and teams, some of which obtained sponsors to support their walk. Prizes were given to the individual and team that raised the most money.

Pancakes were provided for the walkers by Chip's Family Restaurant in Fairfield.

Operation Hope addresses the basic needs for food and shelter and offers long-term solutions to hunger and homelessness, including affordable housing, life skills training and personalized clinical support, according to a news release.
