Joining the celebration of Fairfield's 375th anniversary, the Fairfield Public Library plans a "Food for Fines" drive to collect food for the townwide 375 Food Drive next weekend.

For five days only -- from Monday, April 21 through Friday, April 25 -- the library will waive fines on overdue materials in exchange for the donation of food items.

For each library item returned, no matter how long it has been overdue, the library will forgive all associated fines in exchange for a single food item listed at -- http://ffldfooddrive375.org/donate-food -- the Fairfield 375 Food Drive website. The fine waiver does not apply to overdue library museum passes or lost or damaged materials.

The main library and Fairfield Woods Branch Library will also accept donations to the food drive without an overdue item.
