Owner cited for noise at hookah lounge

Anwar Malas, 23, the owner of Sky Hookah Lounge, 689 Kings Highway East, was charged with disorderly conduct about 2:30 a.m. Sunday after police received a neighborhood complaint of excessive noise at the lounge.

Police said loud music and a heavy bass sound could be heard each time the front door was opened, and there were several groups of loud customers congregating in the parking lot.

Malas, who police said agreed that the noise was loud, was released on a promise to appear June 4 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
