"Views X Three," an exhibit of paintings by three Fairfield County women, is on view this month at Art/Place gallery, 70 Sanford St.
A public reception at which the artists will discuss their work is planned Sept. 18, from noon to 1:30 p.m.
The gallery, which shares space with the Fairfield Theatre Company, is open Thursdays through Sundays.
Khachian's watercolors and mixed-media pieces are driven by storytelling, according to publicity for the exhibition, and her subjects include people, flowers, landscapes and still lifes of objects.
"I paint what I see wherever I am, and what I do, I do because there's a story, Khachian said in the release. "Whenever I see something that moves me, I find a story."
A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, her first art show was in the fourth grade, the gallery said.
Travel is the inspiration for Lambertson's landscapes that are in the exhibit, according to the release. All were begun in Florida last winter, then completed in the artist's Norwalk studio.
Completing them involved "much revision, simplifying forms, layering and intensifying color and finding the right balance," Lambertson said in the release.
Reinken's contributions to the exhibit comprise large-scale, abstract paintings.
The works express what was going on in her life when she painted them, Reinken said in the release.
"Painting for me is an adventure -- when you don't know what will happen next, and the painting dictates that direction to you," she said.
The exhibit continues through Oct. 5.
Art/Place Gallery is open Thursday through Saturday, noon to 4 p.m., and Sunday, 2 to 5 p.m. For more information, visit www.artplace.org or call the gallery at 203-292-8328.
