Two Stamford men were indicted Friday for a bank robbery spree across Fairfield County last year, including holdups at banks in Fairfield and Westport.

Spero Moschos, 29, and Christopher Davis, 34, were indicted by a federal grand jury in Bridgeport with multiple counts of robbery in which a total of approximately $40,000 was stolen from 11 banks, according to Nora R. Dannehy, the U.S. attorney for Connecticut.

Moschos was charged in all 12 counts of the indictment and Davis is charged in eight counts.

In addition to the banks in Fairfield and Westport, which was held up twice, banks in Norwalk, Stamford, Darien and Wilton were robbed by the men.

This case is being investigated by the FBI, assisted by local police in Wesport, Fairfield and the other affected communities.
