Pedestrian still in critical condition, struck by car in Fairfield

FAIRFIELD — A 77-year-old man remains in critical condition after police said he was struck by a car while crossing the Post Road Saturday evening.
According to police, Kenneth Eckert was crossing the Post Road near Shoreham Village Drive around 6:15 p.m. when he was hit by car headed westbound.
Eckert, who lives in Fairfield, was taken to Bridgeport Hospital and remained in critical condition as of Thursday morning.
The car was being driven by Sonia Polanco, 72, of Bridgeport. No charges have been filed at this time, and the crash reconstruction team is continuing its investigation.
