A pedestrian hit by a van in the crosswalk at Tunxis Hill Road and Villa Avenue was hospitalized Wednesday for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident took place about 2:15 p.m., not far from the site where a pedestrian was struck in March by a woman who was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

A fire truck was stopped at a red traffic light at the intersection when the accident occurred Wednesday, and firefighters reported the accident to dispatch.

The pedestrian was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Police are investigating.
