FAIRFIELD — Step out and explore the woodlands of northern Fairfield on a series of springtime walks through the Larsen Sanctuary of the Connecticut Audubon Society.
The walks along a mile-long trail are planned at 10:30 a.m. Saturdays April 9, 16 and May 7 at Audubon’s Center at Fairfield, 2325 Burr St.
Participants can expect to see the return of migrating birds, hear peepers and smell skunk cabbage. Along the way, rocks and logs will be rolled back in search of insects and salamanders, according to Audubon planners.
Advance registration is required. The program is free for Connecticut Audubon members and $3 for non-members. Call 203-259-6305, ext. 109, to reserve a spot.
