Pequot Library will host a talk by Susan Fales-Hill, author of "Imperfect Bliss," as part of its Meet the Author series from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 3, in the library's auditorium and reading room, 720 Pequot Ave.
The novel is about a woman who reconsiders all she thought she knew about love, her family, and herself following a messy divorce when her younger sister stars in a bachelorette reality show.
Fales-Hill, of New York City, has also written "Always Wear Joy," a memoir about her mother, the late actress, singer and dancer Josephine Premice, and "One Flight Up." She began her writing career as an apprentice on the original "Cosby Show" and continued writing for television and for magazines such as Town & Country, Vogue, Glamour, American Heritage and Ebony.
Born in Rome in 1962, and raised in New York City, Fales-Hill graduated from the Lycee Francais de New York in 1980 and from Harvard College with a degree in history and literature in 1985.
A book signing and refreshments will follow the lecture.
