"Your Personal Brand: Define It, Market It and Know How to Negotiate with It," is the title of a workshop offered Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 7 p.m. at the Fairfield Library.

The workshop is designed help participants craft their brand, image, and logo, and to answer the questions: Do you feel that others don't have a clear understanding of who you are, what your value proposition is and what you offer to a potential employer? Do you stumble over your elevator speech? Have trouble writing your career summary on your resume because you have trouble defining your skills, experience and overall persona? Do you feel intimidated when talking to others about yourself because you feel like you are bragging? Do you know what you are worth in terms of compensation when negotiating with a hiring company? The presentation will also assist how to take that personal brand and market it effectively to others, not only potential employers, but also to advocates, friends, family and former colleagues.

Presenter is Beth Carter, of Beth Carter Enterprises in Fairfield, offering executive, business and career coaching workshops and presentations.

The workshop is part of the library's Jobs Series, now in its fifth year. The talks are supplemented by the library's networking group, a LinkedIn networking group, one-on-one career counseling sessions, Job Search Boot Camp, podcast recordings of more than 100 past presentations and an updated collection of job-hunting books.
