Former Selectman Sherri Steeneck is hoping the black kitten she brought to the recent Board of Selectmen meeting doesn't break the streak of adoption success that her "Wednesday's Pet" program has enjoyed.

Since Steeneck started the feature while serving as acting first selectman, every stray animal that has been highlighted at the board's meetings has been adopted from the town's animal shelter at 211 One Rod Highway.

The most recent pet was "Gerry," a small black kitten that Steeneck described as "kind of squirmy," but very friendly.
