Two dogs took over the agenda at last week's Board of Selectmen meeting -- Vera and Moe, two Lhasa Apso-poodle mixes.

"They're either double the trouble or double the fun," former Selectman Sherri Steeneck said during one of her regular appearances to promote animal adoptions. The dogs brought to the Fairfield Animal Shelter when their owner could no longer care for them.

The dogs, apparently brother and sister, are both 7 years old and can be visited at animal shelter, 211 One Rod Highway.

So far, Steeneck's efforts to secure adoption for animals housed at the shelter, successfully finding homes for all of the canines and felines spotlighted during selectmen meetings.

"We're doing great," Steeneck said.
