Police want the public's help in identifying a woman suspected of stealing an employee's handbag from a Tunxis Hill Road business last month and later using a credit card from the stolen purse.

The incident took place Sept. 13 when the dreadlocked woman entered the business -- police did not specify the store -- and is believed to have taken the purse of an employee.

One of the credit cards from the stolen purse was used to fraudulently withdraw money from a Post Road bank shortly after 6:30 p.m. that night, police said Wednesday.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police Detective Bill Young at 203-254-4840 or email wyoung@town.fairfield.ct.us. Callers are asked to refer to case 11-28946.
