Pequot Library will host its annual potluck dinner, outdoor concert and campout Friday night.

The event takes place on the Great Lawn of the library, 720 Pequot Ave., from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m.

Participants can bring a potluck dish and participate in the potluck supper, listen to live music, slug it out in a pillow fight and even camp overnight if they wish.

The potluck supper begins at 6:30 p.m. Those planning to attend can call the library's children's department at 203-259-0346, ext. 18, to coordinate their dishes with others, the library said.

Lawn games for children are planned, including badminton and spinnaker.

The Merwin Mountain Band -- a quartet of Fairfield neighbors who grew up in different states -- will perform at 7:15 p.m. and the pillow fight is scheduled for 9 p.m.

Whole Foods is donating fried chicken for the dinner, the library said, and S'mores will be prepared later by campfire.

The potluck supper, music and pillow fight move indoors in case of rain.
