FAIRFIELD — Doreen Drive resident Taylor Berghane was charged with third-degree assault after he allegedly punched another man in the face early Sunday morning.
According to police, the victim said he was at the Domino’s on the Post Road just before 2 a.m. May 21. He said he was making small talk with another group of people when, all of a sudden, Berghane turned around and punched him in the face. The victim said there had been no argument.
Initially, police said, Berghane said the victim had thrown a punch first but later admitted hitting the victim because he thought the victim was making fun of him. The report said Berghane was visibly intoxicated.
Berghane, 25, was released on a promise to appear in state Superior Court in Bridgeport on June 1.
